✨This is a dream come true! ✨My newest novel Song Of Fire is now Live! I cant believe it! This is beyond a dream come true, you have no idea, but you will by the end of this post.
When I was a little girl I used to dream that Disney would come out with an Amazonian Princess. A princess from an all female tribe, no prince to save her, she saves herself. (Thank you Disney for at least giving me Frozen, Brave, and Moana finally lol) But I would daydream about this kick butt princess, and what she was like. *cough* She may have looked a bit like me. *cough* What can I say, I was a kid lol. Then in early 2007 I started brainstorming Song Of Fire after I had a vivid dream about that princess, only she wasn't a princess anymore she was Siren Willows, a 16 year old girl who could sing fire! Song Of Fire was named that very day. I knew I had to make Siren and her world real. I started world building. I made the land Atara, and went through all the different monster races that would live there. I made the Phoenix. people who were given the powers of the mythological Phoenix bird and could harness them to manipulate fire with their hands. I made their government, history, I drew maps and the emblem to represent the Phoenix. Then I began on personal stories. I built family trees for the three main kinds in Song Of Fire. I went on a certain family tree website and created family trees for my characters. Each person on those trees has a story, a personality and a family that I added in, even if they were long dead before Siren's story was to take place. That took 3 years. (Have I mentioned how busy I am? lol) Then I started writing. and writing... and writing... In no time I had a story. I began talking my husband's ears off about my world. I made storylines, and knew then as I know now that Song Of Fire is going to become a long series. I am always expanding on the world and adding in new things for future novels. In 2013 I began searching for agents. I felt it was too pretentious to write the second novel to Song Of Fire, or the second novel to Illuminous for that matter, without an agent. So I began working on other stories, always writing little notes down to add to the Song Of Fire series. (Note: This was/is a mistake. If you have a series in you just write it. Don't wait for an agent, publisher, friend, or anyone to validate you. Just write. ) Anyway's I began researching into how to query, writing queries, what agents want, what agents want what books, who the agents are I feel would represent me, and so on. I started just querying for Illuminous, I still wanted Song Of Fire to be absolutely perfect. Then as the rejections began flowing I decided to just query for Song Of Fire and see if it did better. The rejections continued, some truly just plain cruel, which really hit me in the gut. As of December 2016, I began to feel none of my finished novels would ever become published. It was just an item on my Ultimate Adventure List (my personal version of a bucket list of sorts) that would probably never get checked off. I comforted myself knowing at least my sister who had previously hated to read, read my novels and fell in love with reading altogether, starting with my books, and that my husband who only reads non-fiction genuinely liked them as well. Then 2017 happened and as most of you know, Illuminous got picked up by a publisher! I had literally only sent in Illuminous because I was too scared to send in Song Of Fire, because it is so dear to my heart I didn't want it rejected again lol. I'm glad it worked out that way now though. Getting picked up by a small press really gave me the confidence to put my all back in to my writing career. So finally in September 2017 I started querying for Song Of Fire again. And now today after 10 long years of waiting, Song Of Fire has come to life. I have held the paperback in my hands, and its really real! I even did a photo with my two novels side by side because I was in such disbelief. Not just one but TWO of my novels have been published this year. *Runs around in circles screaming excitedly* After I got picked up by a publisher I learned that it's a good idea to continue to write a series if you plan to with a book, not skip series to series. So now I'm working on the second book to the Illuminous series, Lucent . Then I will be working on Song Of Passion, the second book in the Song Of Fire series. I have other projects written and in the works in the mean time, but for now I hope you all truly enjoy this novel. It is the culmination of everything I love about fantasy, and a life time of daydreams and aspirations. I plan for Song Of Fire to be a huge multi-book series, so this is just the beginning. This novel is my passion. It is why I am an author, it's why I write, it is the first idea I had that I ever loved. I hope everyone loves it too. I write for me, but I truly would love to share this world with others in hopes they feel what I feel, see what I see, and enjoy this adventure. And possibly get a glimpse of where my mind is when I'm staring off in space lol. I cannot wait for you all to read it and tell me what you think! 🔥Just Released! 🔥 There are magic, monsters, and mayhem at every turn in my newest epic fantasy novel, SONG OF FIRE ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Siren Willows was nine when she first discovered that not only was she not human, but mostly likely evil, and when she sang, her song could bring an immediate fiery death to those around her. At 16, after holding her songs at bay for years, Siren breaks and sings once again. As it turns out, Siren is part Phoenix as well, a long line of mythical beings called to protect their veiled land, Atara, from evil. Her new-found friends decide to help her find out what other secrets her blood holds after it’s discovered someone else must have heard Siren’s song and is hiring monsters to assassinate her. With two child-like Wisps as her guardians, she sets off on a perilous mission that leads Siren and company on an adventure of a lifetime into a hidden world of magic. Siren never feels more whole than when she sings. If she can’t find out what she is before someone discovers her secret abilities that could wipe out all mythical creatures, it won’t only be mysterious strangers she will have to worry about- the very Phoenix she has come to care for just might call for her death.
