A.K.A. a Glow-getting Amazon of Awesome! So many amazing things are happening!
Okay so I've been super busy. Remember one of my last posts explaining how busy I am, well even more is happening. (Hence me giving myself the name of Glow-getting Amazon of Awesome hahaha.) New Years came, hooray! And with 2018 came many many more opportunities. I made my 2018 goals list. #3 was "Publish more books." I even made a photo and posted it everywhere. See below.
Okay so I posted that everywhere as a self motivating thing around the first week of January. There was this open call for an anthology I had been thinking about doing. A dark paranormal romance called Capture where you write about a human falling for a creature of the night. I am not exactly good at writing by request, but I have had this story in my mind for a few years and I thought if I wrote the prequel to one specific story series I already want to write anyways, it would work. It will eventually become a book series. The Series is called the:
Harper Hatchet: Mermaid Hunter Series
It's a series about a young woman, Harper Hatchet, who hunts and kills evil mermaids. The kind that feed on human flesh. Anyways I wrote the prequel for the dark paranormal romance open call. A few days later it got accepted into the anthology and it will be releasing on Valentine's Day! The story is called DARKEST DEPTHS and it is a part of an anthology book called CAPTURE along with 4 other stories. (I'm going to be doing a blog post about the Capture series at length in a couple days) I'm thrilled. I NEVER thought this bucket list/goal item for 2018 would be completed so quickly. I do plan to, at the very least, publish one more book aside from Darkest Depths, during 2018 so stay tuned for that.
Around that same time as the anthology submission, there was a contest going on. A book awards contest for 2017. They had many many different awards and I actually got nominated for 3 of them! I was nominated for, Best Debut Author 2017 Best Fantasy Book 2017 - Song of Fire Best Shifter Book 2017 - Illuminous I'm thrilled just to be nominated, but I even made it into the final voting rounds! The voting is still going on for another week! So if you haven't already get over there and vote and help Song of Fire, and Illuminous win some awards! <3 I really appreciate it of course. xo
If they won I would just die of happiness! Lol I may actually explode into sparkles of yayness. It's a thing. Haha. I'm just super excited this has all been happening and that's not even all of my great news!
So besides all of that I've kind of been a chicken lately. For real. Ever since Illuminous was published last May I've been pushing back this thing at the library. An Author Event where I do a reading, talk about my book(s), and a live author signing for everyone there who buys a book. Well I finally scheduled it. It's happening February 24th 2018! I'm so nervous. I have no idea what I'm doing lol. I can talk forever on my radio show, but get me in front of live people to talk about myself and I'm going to end up a stuttering fool. But if I want to keep my title of Glow-getting Amazon of Awesomeness I had better go after my career with all I've got and continue being a bucket list busting awesome person. Oh boy. Wish me luck. Because once I have one under my belt I'm scheduling a tour with local book stores and other libraries to continue the same.
So that's all... JUST KIDDING... that's never all.
Okay so last thing. I ALSO, just this morning, did a pre-recorded interview for Upper Skagit Talks, a show on the radio, to talk about the author event at the library, my books, and me. It's going to play the last week of January on my local radio station. I'm pretty enthused. That's my second book interview I've done on the radio since June 2017, this time last year that was so unimaginable. All of this was. Now I've got three books out/coming out, My books are up for some awards!, two radio interviews under my belt, my own radio show (not exactly book related but kind of - its a long story but it never would have happened had I not gotten published), I've been on the front page of the newspaper for my books, and I'm doing a live book reading/signing. Oi! My entire life terrifies me, and I LOVE IT! I do hope you're also enjoying these tidbits of my life too. I also hope you all join me in spirit or in person for my book signing at the library. I hope you join in to listen to my radio interview which will be posted on my author page. Also in celebrating, hopefully by reading Darkest Depths in the Capture anthology when it releases. And finally, please join in the voting for me and my books in the Enchanted Anthology Book Awards, and in the huge party I'll be throwing if I win or place at all!! lol
